Join us on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for a public webinar focused on the update of Montco's hazard mitigation plan. A progress report will be presented, and the public will have an opportunity to give feedback on the mitigation strategy goals and actions. This important plan assesses the threat to Montgomery County represented by various hazards, such as flooding, cyberattacks, opioids, and pandemics, and then presents a mitigation strategy with goals and actions to address these threats. The current plan goals and actions can be viewed at https://www.montcopa.org/3850/Hazard-Mitigation-Planning. Public input is important and will result in a more comprehensive plan. A hazard mitigation plan, approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), is essential for the county to receive funding from FEMA.
