NORRISTOWN, PA – As part of its ongoing public engagement, the Montgomery County Recovery Office is seeking input from Norristown residents on plans to create a community gathering space. $7 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds are allocated for the creation of a centralized space for community services and recreation serving the Norristown community.
Residents of Norristown are asked to submit their feedback via the following ways:
- Attend a virtual meeting on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 6:15 p.m. via Zoom
- Complete an online survey (Available in English and Spanish)
The Recovery Office is working directly with the Norristown community to coordinate planning, design, and implementation of this project that responds to needs expressed by the community. This process will catalogue existing Norristown assets and resources, review current plans and projects in design or underway, identify community needs, and assist the community in determining the best use of these funds to support a shared vision.
The $7 million allocated is not designated to a specific organization or location at this time and could be used for renovation of existing space or other projects, as determined by the community.
This project is part of Montgomery County’s ongoing recovery efforts funded through the American Rescue Plan Act. The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners approved the final Recovery Plan, allocating all $161.4 million in Pandemic Recovery Funds, on August 18, 2022. Click here to download the Recovery Plan.
