NORRISTOWN, PA – The Montgomery County Planning Commission announced today that starting Wednesday, March 8, 2023, single lane road closures will be in effect on Ridge Pike. The lane closure will be in effect from Pine Ridge Road through Northwestern Avenue in the eastbound direction and from Northwestern Avenue to Park Ave in the westbound direction.
Lane closures will be in effect 24/7 with construction occurring between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. No evening or weekend construction is expected at this time. This lane closure will be a permanent configuration in effect through May 2023.
The County’s contractor Allan Myers will coordinate any driveway adjustments with homeowners and businesses to minimize their impacts during the hours of construction.
Additionally, there will be periods of time when flaggers will be directing traffic on Ridge Pike between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The public is urged to use caution and expect delays.
The Ridge Pike Improvement Project involves the full reconstruction of Ridge Pike between Norristown and Philadelphia, with additional widening and safety improvements at specific locations. The project will lessen congestion, improve safety, improve stormwater management, provide safe areas for pedestrians, and help keep the adjacent communities economically competitive.
