NORRISTOWN, PA – The Montgomery County Workforce Development Board, MontcoWorks, in partnership with the Bucks County Workforce Development Board, announces a special National Apprenticeship Week webinar for career seekers of all ages as well as parents, educators, workforce stakeholders and area employers.
This free webinar, entitled Pathways to Registered Apprenticeships and the Careers of Tomorrow, will be held on Tuesday November 15 at 10 a.m. and again at 7 p.m. The webinar will highlight local initiatives that can prepare students and career seekers for meaningful careers and Registered Apprenticeship pathways.
This program is hosted by Adina Tayar, Regional Apprenticeship Coordinator for Montgomery and Bucks Counties, the webinar will feature the Intermediate Units, Community Colleges, PA CareerLink® one-stop centers, and Workforce Development Boards from both counties as well as the Pennsylvania Apprenticeship Training Office (ATO). Representatives will present current and planned programming designed to train career seekers for highly sought-after positions in the most dynamic industries in our area including manufacturing, the skilled trades/construction, business and finance, life sciences, IT and supply chain management.
“We believe that a strong apprenticeship system here Montgomery County can ensure a more equitable pathway to family sustaining wages while supporting our employers who need a skilled workforce,” said Jennifer Butler, Executive Director of MontcoWorks.
All community members are encouraged to register for one of the two virtual sessions for an opportunity to learn more about the programs offered in our area to train career seekers for Registered Apprenticeship and the Careers of Tomorrow.
The eighth annual National Apprenticeship Week, November 14-20, 2022, will continue to celebrate Registered Apprenticeships as a proven recruitment and training strategy for employers and a worthwhile pathway for career seekers. In addition to the webinar, a list of virtual and in-person events is available through ApprentcieshipPHL, a regional consortium of apprenticeship partners.
