Montgomery County Reminds Media of Photography Rules for Polling Places

I voted sticker

NORRISTOWN, PA – Ahead of tomorrow’s General Election, Montgomery County Voter Services is reminding members of the media that photography is prohibited in Montgomery County polling places.

The Pennsylvania Election Code limits access to the room where voting takes place to election workers, watchers, and those members of the public who are in the room for the purpose of casting a vote. No other people are permitted in that area. It is Montgomery County’s policy to not permit media to photograph inside polling places. However, photography is allowed 10 feet away from polling places outdoors.

Polling Place Recommendations for Media

Media seeking polling places with potentially larger turnouts should refer to the County's polling place list. Polling places where multiple precincts report are usually best to capture larger numbers of in-person voters. As a reminder, photography must be 10 feet away from the entrance of the polling place.

Vote Counting Operations for Mail-in and Absentee Ballots

Election Results Dashboard

Results will be posted online starting after 8 p.m. on Election Day and continue until every eligible ballot is counted. During higher turnout elections, this process will take longer to complete. The County’s election results dashboard will reflect the real time unofficial results as they are processed.
