The Sheriff’s Office is charged with:
- Ensuring safety within the Montgomery County Justice Complex
- Enforcing court orders
- Serving all criminal and civil writs issued by the Courts
- Transporting incarcerated individuals throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and performing extraditions from other states for court proceedings.
- Assisting other law enforcement agencies with processing DUI offenders
- Issuing licenses to carry firearms
- Conducting sales of real and personal property
- Assisting local and regional law enforcement agencies during emergencies and apprehensions
Upon successful hire, Sheriff’s Deputies receive
generous benefits through Montgomery County that include competitive wages starting at $41,600 per year, a Monday through Friday workweek, tuition reimbursement, excellent health care benefits, County pension, and paid time off. Deputies are also offered professional training and opportunities for advancement including the opportunity to serve in one of our specialty divisions including K-9, bomb squad, honor guard, and community response team.
