[ARCHIVED] Montgomery County Announces Upcoming Recovery Funding Town Halls

NORRISTOWN, PA – Montgomery County’s Recovery Office announced today it will hold a series of virtual and in-person town halls to discuss how individuals and organizations can submit ideas or projects for consideration of funds received through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

“ARPA funds will have a transformational impact on our County which is why we continue to gather input from all of our stakeholders to ensure we use this funding thoughtfully,” said Dr. Valerie A. Arkoosh, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. “By listening to our residents, community partners, researching best practices and leveraging other resources, we will create impactful initiatives, investments and infrastructure improvements that will have long-term, measurable and sustainable impact.”

During upcoming interactive town halls, representatives from the Montgomery County Recovery Office will discuss what ARPA funds can be used for and share information on how to submit an idea or project for consideration. There will be ample time for questions, the public is encouraged to register in advance and submit questions.

“Investments made through the County’s ARPA funds will allow us to address historic disparities and lay the foundation for a strong and equitable economic recovery,” said Kenneth E. Lawrence, Jr., Vice Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. “We encourage anyone who wishes to partner with us in these efforts to join us at an upcoming town hall to learn more about submitting a project or idea.”

Three public town halls are planned on the following dates:

Tuesday, February 22 at 6:30 p.m. (Online & In-Person) - Join us in person in the Commissioners' Board Room on the 8th floor of One Montgomery Plaza, 425 Swede Street, Norristown, PA. Residents may also choose to participate virtually using Zoom. To participate, register at www.montcopa.org/Feb22townhall

Wednesday, February 23 at 6:30 p.m. (Online & In-Person - Spanish Language/En Español). This town hall will be presented in Spanish. Join us in person in the Commissioners' Board Room on the 8th floor of One Montgomery Plaza, 425 Swede Street, Norristown, PA. Residents may also choose to participate virtually using Zoom. Thursday, February 24 at 6:30 p.m. (Online & In-Person) - Join us in person in the Commissioners' Board Room on the 8th floor of One Montgomery Plaza, 425 Swede Street, Norristown, PA. Residents may also choose to participate virtually using Zoom. This town hall will be presented in partnership with the Asian American Coalition. To participate, register at www.montcopa.org/Feb24townhall.

Recovery Funding Timeline
  • February 28, 2022: Project & Idea submission process opens
  • April 30, 2022: Project & Idea submission process closes
  • May 2022: Community draft plan presentation for feedback
  • June 2022: Final Plan Adoption
  • July 2022: Project Implementation
