The Montgomery County Planning Commission (MCPC) annually updates implementation activities by the county and outside partners aimed toward achieving the goals of Montco 2040: A Shared Vision. This past year (2021) proved to be a challenging year for staff who continue working to address the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as well as the after effects of Hurricane Ida, which passed through the county in summer 2021. Adopted in 2015, Montco 2040 has three themes that encompass the county’s vision for the future: Connected Communities, Sustainable Places, and Vibrant Economy. Each theme has a unique set of goals that together make Montgomery County a place with a strong economic, environmental, and residential outlook.
