Green Lane Reservoir

NORRISTOWN, PA – In accordance with updated state and federal COVID-19 mitigation guidelines, Montgomery County Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites (PTHS) have announced the following updates on permitted events within their facilities.

Issuance of trail-based Special Use Permits, typically requested for organized races or other events held on regional trails will continue to be suspended through at least June 30, 2021.

This applies to the Schuylkill River Trail including the Towpath and Schuylkill East Trail, Pennypack Trail, Cross County Trail, Chester Valley Trail, Audubon Loop, Wissahickon Green Ribbon Trail, and Perkiomen Trail.

Rentals of indoor spaces will be granted based on occupancy limits of 50% of capacity

  • Pavilions are not considered indoor spaces and are available for rent as normal, subject to overall limit of 250 people. Pavilions are available for rent at most park sites with a few exceptions: Lock 60, Upper Schuylkill Valley Park, and Lorimer Park.
  • Upper Schuylkill Valley Park animal indoor facilities are offering limited attendance and are directionally controlled to maintain distancing requirements.
  • Green Lane Park will continue to accept camping reservations at 50% capacity.

The Montgomery County Office of Public Health requires a COVID-19 Mitigation Plan for events and gatherings with more than 25 people indoors or more than 250 people outdoors.

Montgomery County Historic Sites and Upper Schuylkill Valley Park will continue to manage visitation limits and touring based on case-by-case review of group requests while requiring masks and social distancing.

Restrooms will remain open on a limited basis. Water fountains will remain off until further notice. PTHS will continue to require masks and social distancing consistent with current COVID-19 mitigation guidelines.
