Schwenksville Postcard

SCHWENKSVILLE, PA – Pennypacker Mills invites visitors to its new exhibit, “Greetings from Schwenksville,” running now through January 2022. The exhibit features images from the collection of Pennypacker Mills, showing Schwenksville and the surrounding area at the turn-of-the-twentieth century when it was considered a resort town. This was the heyday of the Perkiomen Railroad which boasted four trips a day to bring both people and freight to the area. One of the major attractions was the Perkiomen Creek. Some of these images were featured on postcards, stereographs and even plates, including ones of Pennypacker Mills.

To book a guided tour of Pennypacker Mills to see the “Greeting from Schwenksville” exhibit, call (610) 287-9349 or email in advance. All tours must be confirmed by a staff member.

Visitors are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Group tours are limited to 10 people maximum. The exhibit is located in two second floor galleries. Those unable to make it to the site, or those who are interested in knowing more can visit the exhibit website here
