NORRISTOWN, PA – Montgomery County officials and the
Office of Public Health (OPH) today reported COVID-19 test results and deaths from January 6 to 12, 2021. Over the past week, 2,725 additional people tested positive for coronavirus, and 52 people died of COVID-19, bringing the countywide total to 37,651 cases and 1,080 deaths.
Fourteen of the individuals who died of COVID-19 resided in a long-term care facility. Of the new cases, 67 of the new cases are in long-term care facilities. None of the reported positive COVID-19 cases resulted from antibody testing. More information is included in the
linked weekly report.
The Montgomery County OPH is vaccinating qualifying healthcare staff at a public vaccination clinic hosted by Montgomery County Community College. Due to the limited supply of vaccine at this time, only people in the CDC defined 1A category who live or work in Montgomery County will be given appointments. Appointment slots are limited and are available by reservation only. Walk-up registration is not accepted. To learn more about the 1A criteria or request an appointment, visit

“At this time, Montgomery County is still only vaccinating frontline healthcare workers in Phase 1A,” said Dr. Valerie A. Arkoosh, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. “We continue to ask for everyone’s patience due to our limited quantity of the COVID-19 vaccine. Because our supply is limited, we do not have a timeline for when we will be able to start vaccinating people in other phases.”
