MontCo Real Estate is Breaking Records

Masked ROD Team

This is an unprecedented year for the world, our country and Montgomery County. Yes, because the coronavirus continues to impact our communities and businesses. But also because I cannot remember the last time our office saw this level of real estate activity.

Despite the pandemic, there are still large real estate deals happening right here in Montco. But we don’t need to tell you that – we hear from our customers every day that your offices have been seeing the same extraordinary amount of work as we have.

In fact, the hard working and dedicated staff in my office recorded almost 30,000 documents in the third quarter of 2020. That’s thousands more documents each month and more than any other quarter during my time in office.

For example, this September we recorded over 3900 mortgages, 500 more than we did in September 2019.

We have also recorded 80 more notary commissions in September than September 2019; and are on track to swear in 200 more notaries in 2020 than in any year during my tenure as Recorder of Deeds.

Because of this unparalleled amount of work, and in addition to the new COVID restrictions that our office is strictly adhering to, recording times are taking longer than usual. However, I could not be prouder of the work and work ethic of my staff during this unprecedented time.
