Coronavirus Update: Montgomery County Offices Closed to the Public

The Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds office is currently closed to the public for recording and title searching. We will be accepting all paper recordings via the mail only.

We will accept plans for recording via mail in a rolled tube. We are working with the Planning Commission and Board of Assessment to continue to record plans.

Our USPS mailing address is:

One Montgomery Plaza

P.O. Box 311

Norristown, PA 19404-0311

FedEx/UPS items can be sent to:

Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds

425 Swede Street; Swede and Airy Streets

One Montgomery Plaza, Suite 303

Norristown, PA 19401

Additionally, we will continue to accept recording through our four eRecording partners

During this time, our office is working a reduced staffing schedule and reduced office hours, as such, recordings are taking longer. Please bear with us.

If you have been recently commissioned as a notary, the PA Department of State has extended those deadlines and our office is currently working in conjunction with the Prothonotary’s office on a plan to swear in notaries. If you are a notary and would like to be updated on that status, please e-mail us at RODNews@montcopa.org.

I appreciate your understanding and assistance in helping us minimize the spread of COVID-19 and keeping everyone healthy. This is an evolving situation, and we will continue to update you via e-mail, as well as posting updates on our website and our social media pages as there are changes.

Thank you,

Jeanne Sorg
