Local Water Resource Success Stories — Stormwater Management and Water Quality Restoration Efforts in Montgomery County will take place on Wednesday, May 16, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Advance Technology Center Room 101 of the Montgomery County Community College* in Blue Bell. When presented with new planning strategies, people often ask, “Where is this being done?” In the case of better stormwater management and water quality restoration projects, we’ll show you where “this” is being done right here in Montgomery County. Municipalities and environmental organizations have been involved in design and implementation of stormwater BMP projects, water quality improvement efforts, and green stormwater infrastructure installations in our county—with impressive results. The level of stormwater management and water resource planning activity in our area, from individual municipalities working on their MS4 programs to cooperative efforts as part of the Delaware River Watershed Initiative, is significant. Participants will be presented with case studies, including design templates and cost information, of projects which have been implemented with success right in our own backyard. This event, which is part of our Planning Smarter Montco 2018 program, corresponds to the Sustainable Places theme of Montco 2040: A Shared Vision, Montgomery County's nationally awarded comprehensive plan.

*Montgomery County Community College is not affiliated with the event, and the college should not be contacted regarding the program.
