Serving the Religious Needs of the Inmates
The Chaplaincy at Montgomery County Correctional Facility is given the responsibility to serve all the religious needs of the inmate community. This task is accomplished by any of the following:
  • A nondenominational, nonsectarian chapel in which inmates can worship is available.
  • The religious programming will be scheduled by the chaplain and is supplied by religious volunteers who are trained and oriented to minister in a prison environment. Currently, there are over 40 different religious activities that take place in the facility every week.
  • Religious counseling is offered by the chaplain or arrangements can be made for outside clergy to visit the inmate.
  • The chaplain also has a lending library of religious books, which are donated to the facility and made available to the inmate population.
