From September 23, 2021 to June 2, 2022, Montgomery County participated in a Racial Equity Learning Community (RELC) to provide education, awareness and action to County government and local nonprofits in order to advance racial equity and justice.
The Racial Equity Learning Community is a cross-County, multi-sector initiative for organizations in Bucks and Montgomery Counties to come together to learn, build relationships, and take action that deepens organizational and collective capacity to advance racial equity and justice in our community. It involved several hours-long training and coaching sessions.
Montgomery County has joined this Learning Community with department-wide participation, and a commitment by leadership to develop a County Racial Equity Action Plan (REAP), department-level Racial Equity Action Plans and to participate in community action teams for specific issue areas.
This Learning Community is being coordinated by the three Collaborative organizations in our community: Bucks-Mont Collaborative, the Interagency Council of Norristown, and Tri-County Community Network, with consultation and training by the nINA Collective.
