Ridge Pike Section D: Traffic Restrictions

Montgomery County’s Ridge Pike Improvement Project is a complex and lengthy roadway, drainage, sidewalk, and lighting construction project. This web  page will list current construction updates that will affect traffic flows along the corridor, and will be frequently updated as the County’s construction contractors complete various activities.


September 22, 2023

The Contractor on Ridge Pike Section D will be working at the intersection of Ridge Pike and Crescent Ave., the week of October 2nd, from 9AM to 3PM, installing a manhole for the sanitary sewer system.  One lane in each direction will be maintained on Ridge Pike at all times.  Flaggers will be utilized to allow drivers to enter onto and exit from Crescent Ave. The Contractor will also be modifying the Manor Road traffic patterns on Tuesday, September 26th.  This may result in some minor delays, however, one lane in each direction will be maintained on Ridge Pike.

July 27, 2023

Allan Myers will have an excavation crew on site at 4:00 PM to excavate the trench from Pine Ridge Road to the Cemetery Access Road.  A paving crew will then follow at 7:00 PM to pave the trench.  This should be the last time night paving will be necessary to advance the project into the next stage.

July 24, 2023

 There will be night paving operations on the Ridge Pike Improvement Project, Section D, between Pine Ridge Drive and Harts Lane this evening.  This will be a temporary pavement application in the lane that is currently closed.  The contractor plans to be working from 6:00 p.m .to 5:00 a.m.

July 20, 2023

There will be night paving operations on the Ridge Pike Improvement Project, Section D, between Barren Hill Road and Northwestern Avenue this evening.  This will be a temporary pavement application in the lane that is currently closed.  The contractor plans to be working from 6pm to 5am.

March 18, 2023

Please be advised that Allan Myers is planning to work Saturdays during Stage 1 (thru approximately mid-May), this includes tomorrow (3/18).  Saturday work is being done to assist with making up lost days due to weather, and delayed utility relocations in an effort to advance the schedule.  They will be working along Ridge Pike between Crescent Avenue and Northwestern Avenue from 7am – 3pm most Saturdays.

March 17, 2023

The roadway contractor will be working Saturdays between Crescent Avenue and Northwestern Avenue beginning on 3/18/2023 between the hours of 7am – 3pm.  Please be prepared for possible lane restrictions.

March 18, 2023 – May 2023

Work will occur on Saturdays starting March 18, 2023 through around mid-May 2023 along Ridge Pike between Crescent Avenue and Northwestern Avenue from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday work is being done to make up for lost days, due to weather and delayed utility relocations, in an effort to advance the schedule. 

March 8, 2023 – May 2023

Single-lane road closures will be in effect on Ridge Pike from Pine Ridge Road through Northwestern Avenue in the eastbound direction and from Northwestern Avenue to Park Avenue in the westbound direction. In addition, left turns on Manor Road will not be permitted. Lane closures will occur between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. No evening or weekend closures are expected at this time. This lane closure will be a permanent configuration in effect through May 2023. 

September 6, 2022

Barren Hill Road will have intermittent single lane closures on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Single lane closures with flagging will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Barren Hill Road between Ridge Pike and Harts Lane for soil testing. The public is urged to use caution while traveling in construction zones.

August 22 – August 26, 2022

Pre-construction activities will continue on Ridge Pike between Crescent Avenue and Northwestern Avenue during the week of Monday, August 22, 2022. Single lane closures with flagging will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from August 22-26 in various locations throughout the corridor for tree clearing and utility relocation. The public is urged to use caution while traveling in construction zones.

August 15 – August 19, 2022

Pre-construction activities will continue on Ridge Pike between Crescent Avenue and Northwestern Avenue during the week of Monday, August 15, 2022. Single lane closures with flagging will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from August 15-19 in various locations throughout the corridor for tree clearing and utility relocation. The public is urged to use caution while traveling in construction zones.

August 8 – August 17, 2022

Rolling lane closures will occur along Ridge Pike from Crescent Avenue to Philadelphia in preparation for construction work. A temporary signal has been installed at the intersection of Manor Road and Ridge Pike and will go live on 8/10/2022.  Residents and commuters may notice a slight difference in the timing of the new signal.  The next intersection to receive a temporary signal will be Church Road/Harts Lane and Ridge Pike.

August 1 – August 7, 2022

Pre-construction activities will continue on Ridge Pike between Crescent Avenue and Northwestern Avenue during the week of Monday, August 1, 2022. Single lane closures with flagging will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from August 1-5 in various locations throughout the corridor for tree clearing and utility relocation. The public is urged to use caution while traveling in construction zones.

July 25 – July 30, 2022

Pre-construction activities will continue on Ridge Pike between Crescent Avenue and Northwestern Avenue the week of Monday, July 25, 2022.  Single lane closures with flagging will be in effect from 9 AM to 3 PM during the week of the 25th in various locations throughout the corridor for tree clearing and utility relocation.  Please use caution while traveling in construction zones.

July 18 – July 22, 2022

Pre-construction activities will begin on Ridge Pike between Crescent Avenue and Northwestern Avenue on Monday, July 18, 2022. Single lane closures with flagging will be in effect from 9 AM to 3 PM during the week of the 18th in various locations throughout the corridor for tree clearing. Please use caution while traveling in construction zones.
