Eligible Activities
Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF)
Promotes the development of affordable housing Eligible activities include new construction, acquisition, and rehabilitation; development of permanent and transitional rental housing; homebuyer and housing assist programs that will provide affordable housing throughout Montgomery County
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Promotes community revitalization. Eligible activities include acquisition, rehabilitation, disposition, relocation, clearance, demolition, removal of architectural barriers, historical restoration, planning activities, public work projects, infrastructure improvements, public services, housing activities and economic development.
Continuum of Care (CoC)
The Montgomery County Office of Housing and Community Development is the Collaborative Applicant responsible for facilitating Your Way Home Montgomery County’s PA-504 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition issued by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), including the review, rating, and ranking of new and renewal projects that provide housing and services for residents experiencing or at imminent risk of homelessness using these federal dollars.
PA Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED)
The Montgomery County Office of Housing and Community Development applies to funding opportunities from the Commonwealth’s Department of Community & Economic Development whenever available and applicable to expand funding opportunities for homeless services, community development, and affordable housing development. Other eligible entities in Montgomery County are also allowed to apply directly. Please click the link for more information.
Emergency Food & Shelter Grant Program (EFSP)
Help meet the needs of hungry and homeless people by allocating funds for the provision of food and shelter. Mass shelter to homeless, food assistance, emergency rent, mortgage, and utility assistance. The Your Way Home PA-504 Continuum of Care oversees EFSP funding.
Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)
To improve the quality of existing emergency shelters for the homeless. Renovation, rehabilitation, or conversion of buildings for use as emergency shelters or transitional housing; provisions of essential social services for the homeless; payment of operating costs for shelters; development and implementation of homeless prevention activities such as short-term mortgage/rent or utility payments, security deposits, first-month rent, landlord/tenant mediation and tenant legal services.
HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME)
Supports the development of affordable housing. Eligible activities include tenant based rental assistance, homebuyer’s assistance, property acquisition, new construction, rehabilitation, site improvements, and demolition.
Homeless Assistance Program (HAP)
Supportive services to individuals and families experiencing or at risk for homelessness. Activities include bridge housing, case management, rental assistance, emergency shelter and innovative supportive housing.
