HHS Donations

Many low-income residents contact HHS for help or our staff work with individuals and families who are in need of basic necessities. The HHS Donation Hub strives to meet these needs in emergency situations by accepting donations and holding seasonal drives throughout the year. Basic needs such as emergency food, clothing, toiletries, cleaning supplies, diapers, feminine hygiene supplies, books, and coats/clothing are on hand at all times.

Our seasonal drives include Spring Clean, Summer Food, Back to School, and our Winter Drives include Coats, Thanksgiving, and Holiday. We always are in need of, and will gratefully accept throughout the year, gift cards to any store or other basic needs items through our Amazon Wishlist. 

How can you help?

  1. Purchase from the Amazon Wishlist: Basic Needs. The items you donate will be mailed directly to us. Seasonal or Winter Drives may have their own Wishlist - see below for details on specific drives.
  2. Drop off items to the Human Services Center in Norristown; there are donation boxes inside the main entrance.
  3. Donate a gift card! That card that’s been sitting in your drawer can make a difference in someone’s life.
  4. Become a Partner – if your family, your workplace, youth or civic group wants to help, we would be grateful for your support.

Spring Clean Drive 2023

Thank you to our 2022 donors!

Back to School Supplies Drive

We received 183 pre-filled backpacks and about 9,000 loose items (pens/pencils, notebooks, crayons, etc). In 2022, we estimated that we outfitted 9,000 kids for school. 

Gift Card Drive

The Office of Integrative Services collected $2,300 in gift cards for families in need.

Spring Clean Drive

1,827 toiletries and 626 cleaning items were collected for a grand total of 2,453 donated items. These will be given to families and individuals in need who are known to HHS program offices.
