BDA (Bi-Directional Amplifiers) and Signal Boosters Information

The Montgomery County Department of Public Safety does not test or certify BDA (Bi-Directional Amplifier) systems since each municipality has its own codes and ordinances. Therefore, you should work with your township or borough fire marshal or code enforcement office to complete testing and certification.

The Department of Public Safety recommends that a baseline test be made in the areas in question. In addition, testing with municipal fire marshal or code enforcement radios is recommended throughout the project.

BDAs need to be frequency programable and cannot transmit any signal outside of the building. The BDA will also have to be registered with the FCC: https://signalboosters.fcc.gov/signal-boosters/
