Experience the Trails

Montgomery County offers its residents and visitors a premier trail system. The Montgomery County Division of Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites is responsible for constructing and maintaining all county trails. We currently have nearly 100 miles of regional county trails connecting greenways, waterways, and heritage corridors within Montgomery County and are planning to construct additional trail miles.

We diligently enhance, promote, and protect these valuable natural assets. We strive to provide trail visitors with an exceptional experience while they traverse through Montgomery County on foot, bicycle, or even horseback. View a map of the trails and plan your next adventure.

ALL COUNTY PARKS, TRAILS & HISTORIC SITES ARE NOW SMOKE FREE.  NO SMOKING (INCLUDING VAPORIZERS) OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED.

Looking to Hold an Event?

Montgomery County understands there may be times when organizations would like to use our trails for formal activities and events, such as walks and rides. Any organization that would like to use our trails for an organized event must first contact the park nearest to where the event will begin. All events must be registered and organizers will need to complete a Special Use Permit Application. Applications are due a minimum of 90 days prior to your event date for approval. The county assesses fees for Special Use permits.

Event organizers are required to comply with all rules and regulations set forth by the county. Trails should be left in as good or better condition after the event, and all trash and signs should be removed. Please note that no events will be scheduled that preclude regular visitation to the trail or require closure of the trail or park to the general public, and no races will be permitted. Organizations looking to use a trail for fundraising must be a registered nonprofit organizations or be able to provide information that all proceeds will be donated to a nonprofit organization or agency.
