There is an historic site within minutes of your home, each representing a unique aspect of Montgomery County history. We invite you to walk the grounds, enjoy the period gardens, or appreciate the landscape as you experience a step back to another time period. Different time periods and themes are presented at the historic sites through a wide variety of exhibits, special events, and programs. These may be found on the web pages for each site.
Free guided tours are available at each site year-round. Plan your trip so that you allow at least 45 minutes for this personalized view into the past.

Both student and adult groups can arrange specialized tours and hands-on activities that correspond to each site’s unique historical perspective and resources. Fees may apply for some programs. Call each historic site for more information.
Events & Exhibits
Special events are scheduled throughout the year that will add to your experience of history. A variety of exhibits, large and small, provide a detailed look at themes related to the lifestyle of particular time periods. View our calendar for up-to-date listings.
Collections are available for research for those looking for detailed information on family genealogy, antiques, architecture, or social history. Call to schedule an appointment.
Each site has special items available in their museum shops to add a period touch to your holidays, reading, crafts, toys, or gifts. Pick up something for yourself, too.

8th Annual Montco Trail Challenge Returns This WeekendThis annual family-friendly program encourages participants to track their visits to select Montgomery County trails to earn awards for completing visits to five, ten, or fifteen participating trails.

Public Input Sought for Green Lane Park Master Plan UpdateMontgomery County Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites has announced a series of public meetings and other interactive public feedback tools to inform the master plan update for Green Lane Park. The first meeting will be held on April 5, 2023.
Norristown Farm Park to Conduct Deer CullMontgomery County Park, Trails, and Historic Sites have announced it will conduct a deer cull at Norristown Farm Park. The cull will be held during the month of March in coordination with state and federal agencies.
Montgomery County Opens New Chester Valley Trail ExtensionThe Montgomery County Commissioners joined with other local officials today to cut the ribbon on the Chester Valley Trail Extension, a 3.8-mile extension of the Chester Valley Trail.
