How to Get Naloxone

Residents

NARCAN® Nasal Spray (NNS) kits are available to Montgomery County residents at various locations:

  • Get Naloxone mailed to you
  • Go to a local Montgomery County pharmacy 
  • Walk-in to our Norristown and Pottstown Public Health Centers between 8 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

FIRST RESPONDER ORGANIZATIONS

The Department of Public Safety has NARCAN® Nasal Spray kits available for "First Responders" through a grant received from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). To obtain NARCAN® Nasal Spray kits for your organization, please follow the below steps.

Step 1 - Determine if your organization is considered a first responder.

TRAINING REQUIRED
Law Enforcement - including Municipal Police, Sheriff's Offices, Campus Police, Campus Security, School Resource Officers, and Park Rangers
Fire Fighters - including both volunteer and paid firefighters
TRAINING RECOMMENDED  
Emergency Medical Services, Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support and Emergency Medical Technicians School Nurse 
Domestic Violence Shelter Personnel After School Program Personnel
Adult Probation and Parole Officers Homeless Shelter Personnel
Juvenile Probation Officers Public Defenders' Offices
County and State* Correctional Facilities Library Personnel
Constables Substance Use Disorder and Opioid Use Disorder Treatment Facilities 
Public Transit Drivers Emergency Departments
Other first responder organizations serving individuals and communities impacted by substance use that are legally organized and trained to respond to overdose emergencies and administer intranasal naloxone.*  Organizations that provide services and supports to individuals who are currently using substances, such as harm reduction organizations (Examples include community grassroots orgs, organizations formed to address the opioid crisis, recovery houses, halfway houses, etc.)

A legally organized 
community group includes one or more of the following:

  • By-laws
  • Charter
  • Registered as a
     501(C)(3)
  • Regular or recurring meetings with minutes

Step 3 - Complete the Application

If you answered yes to any of the above categories, please complete our application in its entirety.

Step 4 - Submit Your enrollment Application

Send the enrollment application via email to GetNarcanCCE@montgomerycountypa.gov
