Montgomery County Maternal Early Childhood Consortium
The Montgomery County Maternal and Early Childhood Consortium (MECC) is a partnership between Montgomery County Human Services and non-profit county maternal, family, and early childhood service providers. Formed in 2015, the Consortium seeks to improve birth outcomes and to improve family stability and well-being. From the start, partner agencies have worked together to establish a coordinated service delivery system as a means to more effectively provide support to families in the county.
The mission of the Montgomery County Maternal and Early Childhood Consortium (MECC) is to engage and support families by providing leadership, convening stakeholders, and mobilizing action to promote maternal, child, and family health. The vision of the MECC is “a healthier community with positive birth outcomes and family stability.”
The Montgomery County MECC believes that a collaborative approach can help families receive the support that they need, promoting positive birth outcomes, family stability, and healthier communities. In 2015, the MECC initiated conversations to coordinate family support services in the county. In August 2018, MECC started a Central Referral system for Evidence-based Family Supports in the Pottstown area.
