Our Juvenile Delinquency Unit engages an interdisciplinary team of attorneys, a social worker, and paralegal to represent children in misdemeanor and felony delinquency matters. The team provides comprehensive and holistic advocacy to their young clients from the first meeting until the termination of the court’s jurisdiction. In addition to investigating the charged allegations, the team also does a complete and thorough exploration of the child’s background in order to present as complete a picture as possible of the youth’s circumstances that may have contributed to the act that brought them to the delinquency court. Members of the Juvenile Delinquency Unit also work closely with the Child Welfare Unit, in exploring any attendant dependency matters, and the Policy Division in exploring and building partnerships with school and community based organizations, as well as advocating for systemic reform.
