The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities/Early Intervention (OMH) helps make community services available to children, adolescents, and adults living in the county. It plans, funds, and monitors services for agencies in the community.
The Montgomery County children’s mental health service and treatment system is guided by Trauma-Informed Care Best Practices, the Child and Adolescent Services System Program (CASSP), and System of Care (SOC) philosophies and practices of resiliency. The concept of resiliency prompts strengths based approaches to build self-esteem and life success. The OMH is committed to the development of an integrated system of care that empowers youth, families, and all systems to be responsible and accountable for outcomes that lead to the fulfillment of hopes and dreams. The OMH is also dedicated to focusing on the promotion of mental wellness, prevention, and reducing the stigma associated with mental health issues.
