Meet the Chief Deputy

Chief Deputy Adam T. Berry is an 22-year veteran of the MCSO having joined the office in 2000. After spending a year in the Courts Division, he transferred to the Civil Division where he served protection from abuse orders and civil actions. He was promoted to deputy in charge in 2010,

In addition to supervising the daily operations and personnel of the Civil Division and later being promoted to Sergeant, Berry supervised the Warrants Division for one year. He transferred to the Transportation and Detention Division in October 2016 and was promoted to Lieutenant in February 2017.

Berry is a certified Taser© instructor, background investigator, and breath test instrument operator and user of non-lethal immobilization devices. He is trained on the National Incident Management System and in the areas of Terrorism Awareness – Domestic Preparedness and Hazardous Materials First Responder Awareness.

Berry earned a bachelor of science in political science from Villanova University and is a graduate of the Montgomery County Police Academy. He lives in Montgomery County with his wife and son.
