To file a Protection from Abuse petition, you must first appear in Court Administration at the Norristown Courthouse Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. This allows you ample time to see the judge.

To qualify for a Protection from Abuse order, there must be either a family relationship or an intimate relationship with the person from whom you want to file for protection. The Prothonotary's Protection from Abuse Department, where you will file your petition, is located on the first floor of the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown.
