The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which is comprised of a cooperative group of law enforcement agencies on the international, federal, regional, state, and local levels.ICAC members share resources and investigate crimes involving the online solicitation of children and the possession and distribution of child pornography nationwide.
The ICAC Task Force was developed in response to the increasing number of children and teenagers using the Internet, the proliferation of child pornography, and the heightened online activity by predators searching for unsupervised contact with underage victims.Montgomery County ICAC Detectives conduct undercover investigations, perform forensic computer examinations, offer training and technical assistance, and victim services.The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office works closely with the Task Force to aggressively prosecute internet offenders, protect potential victims, and educate parents, teachers and children about Internet safety.
