National Night Out / Community Events

National Night Out is a unique crime and drug prevention event, typically scheduled in early August, and sponsored nationally by the Lower Merion-based National Association of Town Watch. National Night Out brings together citizens, law enforcement agencies, community groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and government officials in all across the county in an effort to build a strong partnership among members of the community to encourage cooperation in crime and drug prevention efforts.re typically scheduled in early August.

The District Attorney's Office supports National Night Out and related community events.  The Office actively participates by displaying a variety of crime fighting technology and offering information to the public about crime prevention issues and law enforcement.  The District Attorney's Crime Scene Unit Forensic Van is on display at some locations, along with digital displays of investigative techniques employed by the County Detective Bureau. Assistant District Attorneys and County Detectives attend the event and are available to discuss crime prevention programs and speak with community members.
